MapTiler
MapTiler is a mapping platform providing map styles and vector/raster tiles. Connecting a MapTiler key lets ALIGN use MapTiler styles as basemaps for your maps.
What it enables in ALIGN
Section titled “What it enables in ALIGN”A connected MapTiler key unlocks MapTiler basemaps: bring MapTiler styles through Add Data → Basemap, and they become available to the Basemap switcher widget so your end-users can flip between the basemaps you curated.
How to get the key
Section titled “How to get the key”MapTiler uses a single API key.
- Sign in at the MapTiler Cloud keys page.
- Copy your API key, or create a new one.
- For a key used on published maps, add the allowed origins in MapTiler so it only works from your domains.
- In ALIGN, go to Dashboard → Integrations and paste the key for MapTiler.
Where your key goes
Section titled “Where your key goes”The MapTiler key is stored on your ALIGN account, and the map stored in your Datastore never carries it. A published map does: the visitor’s browser loads MapTiler tiles itself, so the key travels with the published copy. That is what the allowed origins above are for, and ALIGN names the exact domain to allow when you publish. ALIGN also ships keyless open basemaps, so a map works without any provider key.
